Package Highlights

Namik Glacier Trek Package 9 Nights 10 Days is an offbeat Himalayan trekking experience in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The trek is located in the Pithoragarh district and reaches an altitude of over 4,200 meters. It is known for its mix of adventure, natural beauty, remote village life, alpine meadows and wide Himalayan views.

The journey begins from Gogina, a remote village, and continues through traditional Himalayan settlements like Namik Village. The trail moves through dense forests before opening into the stunning meadows of Thala Bugyal. From Thala Bugyal, trekkers climb towards Thal Top, Chofu and Ranthan Kharak, where the ridge walks offer grand mountain views.

One of the most beautiful sections of this trek is between Thala Top and Ranthan Top. This ridge offers panoramic 360-degree views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, making it ideal for photographers, nature lovers and experienced trekkers. The trek is mostly a scenic bugyal and ridge walk experience rather than a snow or glacier-heavy trek, as the source clearly mentions that there is no fixed zero point for the glacier and snow is usually not found except during winter months. 

Itinerary

Day 1 Kathgodam to Gogina
  • Arrive at Kathgodam or Haldwani and begin the drive towards Gogina Village.
  • The drive takes around 8 to 9 hours through scenic mountain roads, valleys and remote Himalayan landscapes.
  • Reach Gogina by evening.
  • Accommodation will be arranged in a homestay or tents depending on group size.
  • After dinner, the trek leader will conduct a briefing session about the route, safety instructions, trek challenges and important guidelines.
  • Overnight stay will be in Gogina.
Day 2 Gogina to Namik Village

After breakfast, begin the trek towards Namik Village.

The trek distance is around 4 km.

The route first descends around 2 km to reach the Ramganga River.

After crossing the river section, the trail becomes an uphill climb towards Namik Village.

Reach Namik campsite by lunchtime.

Spend the evening exploring the peaceful mountain surroundings and local village atmosphere.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at Namik Village campsite.

Day 3 Namik Village to Thala Bugyal
  • After breakfast, start the trek from Namik Village to Thala Bugyal.
  • The trekking distance for the day is around 8 km.
  • The route passes through beautiful forest trails before opening into the alpine meadows of Thala Bugyal.
  • From Thala Bugyal, you can see nearby villages and the backside mountain range of the Kafni Glacier area.
  • Packed lunch will be carried for the day.
  • Reach Thala Bugyal and settle at the campsite.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at Thala Bugyal campsite.
Day 4 Thala Bugyal to Ranthan Kharak
  • After breakfast, begin the trek towards Ranthan Kharak.
  • The total trekking distance is around 6 km.
  • The first 2 km stretch from Thala Bugyal to Chofu Top is steep.
  • After Chofu Top, the trail becomes more gradual towards Ranthan Top and Ranthan Kharak.
  • This ridge section offers stunning views of Nanda Devi, Panchachuli peaks, Khaliya Bugyal range, Nanda Kot, Maiktoli, Kafni Glacier backside and Sunderdhunga range.
  • Reach Ranthan Kharak and enjoy the beautiful campsite views.
  • Sunrise and sunset from this campsite are especially beautiful.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at Ranthan Kharak.
Day 5 Ranthan Kharak to Nanda Kund
  • After breakfast, start trekking towards Nanda Kund with packed lunch.
  • The trekking distance for the day is around 7 km.
  • The trail till Sudamkham is mostly gradual.
  • From Sudamkham to Vinayak, there is a short steep section.
  • After Vinayak, the route again becomes gradual towards Nanda Kund.
  • Most of the trail passes through alpine meadows.
  • Reach Nanda Kund and set up camp near the lake area.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be near Nanda Kund.
Day 6 Nanda Kund to Namik Glacier Area and Back
  • Today is an exploration day.
  • After breakfast, start towards the Namik Glacier or Heeramani Glacier area with packed lunch.
  • The round-trip trekking distance is around 8 km.
  • Explore the glacier surroundings, high-altitude landscapes and remote Himalayan terrain.
  • Spend some time enjoying the views and natural beauty of the region.
  • Return to the campsite by early evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be near Nanda Kund.
Day 7 Nanda Kund to Thalthok
  • After breakfast, begin the return journey from Nanda Kund.
  • Trek towards Thal Top with packed lunch.
  • The trekking distance for the day is around 13 km.
  • The route includes meadow sections, ridge walks and descending trails.
  • Reach Thalthok campsite by evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at Thalthok.
Day 8 Thalthok to Namik Village via Dhach Dhar
  • After breakfast, start the trek from Thalthok towards Namik Village.
  • The trekking distance is around 9 km.
  • From Thal Top, one route descends through forest and connects between Parwa Thor and Namik Village.
  • The trail passes through peaceful forest sections and remote mountain landscapes.
  • Reach Namik Village around lunchtime.
  • Spend the evening relaxing after the trek.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at Namik Village.
Day 9 Namik Village to Haldwani or Kathgodam
  • After breakfast, start the return drive from Namik Village towards Haldwani or Kathgodam via the Vicheli route.
  • The drive takes you through scenic Kumaon mountain roads and villages.
  • Reach Haldwani or Kathgodam by evening.
  • The trekking journey ends with beautiful memories of Namik Glacier, alpine meadows, Himalayan ridges and remote Kumaon landscapes.
Day 10 Buffer Day
  • This day is kept as a reserved buffer day for weather, road delays, route changes or any unexpected situation.
  • If the trek runs smoothly, this extra day can be used either at Ranthan Top during the trek or at Namik Village during the return journey.

  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
    Last-minute No-Show: 100% cancellation charges applicable. No reschedule. No refund.
  • 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.
  • 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel. However, your friend will be eligible for the transfer only if they have not booked any trip/trek with us and have yet to travel.
  • 👉 You can only transfer your Trip or Trek to those friends or People who haven’t booked any trip with us in a given time period.
  • 👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, if we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
  • 👉 90% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed 20 days before the date of travel, (1 Rupee = 10 HikeCoin)
  • 👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
  • 👉 The company is not liable for compensation beyond the tour cost.
  • 👉 Non-Refundable Items: Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable.
  • 👉 Permit fees, forest entry charges, or third-party service charges are non-refundable.
  • 👉 Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable unless the carrier’s official policy allows cancellation with a refund.
